The Lord spoke the words that brought the heavens and earth into being; before that nothing other than God existed. Only He can create something out of nothing. Think about all that occurred that first day, how He set the entire universe into motion by His power. Why? The Lord formed the world and everything in it to glorify Himself and so He could have a love relationship with us. And through His creation, He shows us who He is and what He can do.
